'Solar is a predictable, renewable energy source. Which is why your utility, neighbors, the world, are investing in solar.'
A COMPANY YOU CAN COUNT ON.
“It’s a great day. The panels are all working and I just checked the meter. Even with the heat pump going the meter is going backwards. Hooray! “
Solar for your home requires a few basic conditions, the most important would be space with little shading the majority of the day.
The next logical step, choosing the key components that make up a solar power generating system. Knowing what to ask can save you thousands in the long run.
Panels: There are two basic grades of panels; Poly and Mono. If someone tells you it makes no difference, ask them why there are two grades?
Ask about the panel manufacturer and where the panels are produced? What’s the warranty? Your panels should be warrantied for 25 years. Do you care how the system will look on your home? Then aesthetics matter to you. Ask about it. Some panels have white backgrounds or bright metal frames. Don’t find out day of install that you have unsightly solar panels being attached to your home.
Inverter: Panels make D/C power, like a battery in your smartphone. An inverter ‘inverts’ the D/C energy into A/C which powers your home. The choice of inverter is critical, it fails, you have no power production.
The Installer: The details matter, using quality racking, roof flashing that avoids leaks. Cheap cabling not only lessens the systems output, using the manufacturer cabling ensures your warranty is not voided. Free monitoring setup and reporting for life, a structural report, permitted and passed inspection, taking care of the many filings and paperwork and having a certified, inspected installation ensures a reliable and efficient install and a happy you.
